Why won't my receipt numbers increment?

If your receipt numbers will not increment, it may be caused by one of the following conditions:

  1. You are not producing a Receipt mailing. Receipt numbers will only increment when producing a Receipt mailing. If you are sending Thank-You letters, newsletters, etc. receipt numbers will not increment.
  2. You do not have the Receipt number field in your receipt. Make sure you have placed the Receipt number field in your Receipt letter.
  3. The most common reason receipt numbers won't increment is because at the end of the mailing process, you must click the DONE button. This will commit the mailing to GiftWorks, record all the receipt numbers in the respective donation, and ensure that all is completed.
