What Limits or Capacity has GiftWorks?

There are no limits to the number of SmartLists, field values or Groups in GiftWorks. There is no hard limit on the number of records (combined number of donors and gifts) that can be entered into GiftWorks.

Somewhere between 40,000 and 50,000 records, however, you may start to notice a slowdown in certain areas of GiftWorks. The areas where you may begin to see a slowdown are Mailings, SmartLists, Account Register, and Overview Lists. Basically most places where you can work with a large amount of data at the same time.

Performance is also dependent on the processor speed and RAM that your computer has. For example, if you have an 866 Mhz processor with 256 MB of RAM, GiftWorks, along with most other applications will run slowly with only a moderate amount of data. RAM makes a difference with GiftWorks especially when moving from 256MB to 512MB of RAM

We now offer GiftWorks Pro. This uses Microsoft SQL Server database technology for improved performance, scalability, and capabilities. it also supports a much larger capacity of donors and donations (around 100,000 to 200,000 donors and hundreds of thousands of donations).
